I'm thrilled to announce that Bernard Cooper, a long-time literary hero of mine, has selected my long essay, "Tremolo," as the winner of the 2012 Bloom Nonfiction Chapbook Prize. An excerpt from "Tremolo" will appear in Bloom in spring 2013, and the essay will be published as a chapbook in spring 2013 as well. http://artsinbloom.com/chapbook.html |

On Tuesday evening, March 27th at 7 PM at the Carmichael's Bookstore (Frankfort Avenue location) in Louisville, I will read from Small Fires, answer questions about the book, and sign copies. On Friday afternoon, March 30th, from 12:00-2:00 PM at the University of Louisville (Bingham Humanities Room 300), I will read from my new collection of creative nonfiction, The Missing Sister & Other Stories: A Coming of Age, which serves as my creative dissertation manuscript. James Leary, a friend and fellow doctoral candidate, will also read from his creative dissertation manuscript, a collection of yet-untitled short stories. Both of us will answer questions about our work. These events are free and open to the public. Hope to see you there! |
